Discretion

Built to stay unseen

An interview agent only works if no one knows it's there. Rep-AI is a native desktop app designed around that single constraint.

Out of screen shares

When you share your screen, the operating system asks each window whether it should be included in the capture. Rep-AI's overlay says no. It isn't a trick of positioning or an always-on-top window that you have to remember to move — the window is excluded at the point capture happens, so it is absent from the stream your interviewer sees.

Native, not a browser tab

Rep-AI is a desktop application, not an extension and not a website. Nothing is installed into your browser, nothing appears in your extension list, and there is no tab to accidentally share. It runs alongside whatever video-call software you're using, including calls that happen inside a browser.

Yours by default

The free tier needs no account at all. You bring your own AI and speech-to-text keys, the app talks to those providers directly under your own accounts, and nothing routes through us. Transcripts stay local and export whenever you want.

Data flow

What leaves your machine

The honest version, in three lists.

Stays on your machine

  • The overlay window and everything drawn in it
  • Live transcripts, until you choose to upload one
  • Your API keys on the free tier, stored locally
  • Audio buffers, which are discarded after transcription

Leaves only when it must

  • Audio, to the speech-to-text provider you configured
  • Prompts and your CV context, to the AI provider you configured
  • On Pro, those same requests route through keys we provision
  • Sessions you explicitly choose to upload for later review

Never collected

  • Screenshots or video of your screen
  • Keystrokes outside the app
  • Anything at all if you're on the free tier and never sign in

One thing we won't dodge

Rep-AI processes the audio of a live conversation. Plenty of places — several US states, most of the EU — require everyone on a call to consent before it is recorded, and an employer or hiring platform may have its own policy on assistance during interviews. Knowing and following those rules is your call, not ours. We would rather say that plainly here than let you find out afterwards.
